While the Lord works in mysterious ways, the devil works in secret ones. When starting my initial cult page, i wanted to write summaries for numerous cults so we could understand the deceptions of Satan. While it's great and fascinating to understand all the details of every sect, all cult teachings have 1,000 names, but only one Master-the dark lord satan himself. So, i have decided to do a study of the Belivers- or the modern day followers of self-proclaimed (deceased) prophet, William Branham. A study of Branham is a good place to see how aspects of cults are so interrealted. For example, i have noticed in my study of cults that alot of terms related to cults come full circle and they are tied into PENTACOSTALISM-as is the Branham Following. Look at this word association and see how it comes full circle-

Willaim Branham->Latter Rain Movement->Kenneth Copeland->Word Faith Movement->Pentecostalism->Faith Healing->William Branham

You can take any major word or practice from any cult, and the same type of practice can eventually be found in Adventism, Christian Science, Jehovah's Witness, Pentecostalism, and Paganism!

Wow! That's pretty scarry isn't it? 1,000 names, one Master!

While practices may seem different on the surface, the fruits of Satan can, eventually, be identified in a small set of behvaiors-that's why i choose to focus on one cult, becuase thru one can the whole picture be explained.

Intro to Cults

The greatest lie of Satan is the promise of freedom-but cult members soon find themselves in unescapable bondage! A great lie of Satan is to use practices of tyranny, fear, and punishment under the disguise of "love"-before cult members know it, they have learned to associate bondage and hate with love-and when one feels loved-no matter how that loves was presented-it becomes a hard thing to escape! That same trap is used by the devil when it comes to pornography and abusive relationships -before a person knows it, they are trapped in bondage-whether trying to receive true love thru plastic pictures or cruel behavior-because that's the way theyv'e learend to accept love! A person seeking to avoid true intimacy may turn to porn as the easy way out-but the devil would soon have you know that you are now on ANY road but easy street!

And that's the lie The Father of Lies uses to trap people into his lair-the love that can only be found thru Jesus Christ! Remember, while God is ultimately victorious, the devil is no slacker when it comes to deception-for he was once Lucifer-the angel of light! That's why so many times in cults themes of enLIGHTment are used-and who knows better than the former angel of light himself!

A Short Study of The Branham Movement

William Marrion Branham, born in 1909, was a self-procliamed modern day prophet who was influential in helping to establish The Latter Rain Movement, a Pentecostal movement begun in the 1940's, that is associated with the teachings of Kenneth Copeland, Oral Roberts, Pat Robertson, and the 700 Club. (Notice the name Latter Rain is similar to Latter Day Saints-full circle again, huh?) From a young age, Branham had visions and other supposed signs that he was a prophet of God destined to bring great revival. Branham went so far as to place himself beside the Biblical forefathers of the past such as Luther and Wesley. This is demonstrated in the poster of the "7 Church Ages" seen here.

What Branham failed to realize was these biblical forefathers were doing earthly work, such as Luther's Theses and Wesley's hymn writing. Branham was in the catergory of supernatural prophet, not human pastor, and more appropriately belonged in the ranks of Joseph Smith, who also had many supposed visions and revelations. And, as icing on the cake, he places himself up there with the Apostle Paul!

Notice the symbols at the bottom of the design. There are infinity symbols, and behind it it appears to be an Ouroboros, or occult/satanic snake swallowing its own tail. In Gnosticism, this snake symbolized eternity and the soul of the world. And sometimes, the Ouroboros is depicted as the INFINITY symbol! Weird these two symbols are depicted here layered, isn't it?

Ouroboross:

Branham's family was Catholic by association.(as i mentioned on another page, Catholics are the most likely group to lose their supposed faith later in life.) Like many other false teachers, Branham followed a long and windey road towards his "calling", becoming involved in many different sways. Many credit him with initiating the faith healing movement in 1947, an extrememly popular teaching that is used in charasmatic churches and dozens of other denominations worldwide today. Faith healing is probably only second in popularity to speaking in tongues. Branham supported the "fivefold ministry", which was included in the teachings of Latter Rain. Interestingly, in Paganism, there's a similar sounding practice called "The Fivefold Kiss" in which you kiss 5 parts of someone's body during certian ceremonies. I wonder where they got the inspiration for the "fivefold" name?

Another one of Braham's supposed visions was a funky shaped cloud over Arizona which was said to resemble the face of Jesus in the picture below. If you see this picture, it is usually associated with the Branham movement.

While Branham has been deceased since the 60's, his followers continue on under the name of the "Believers Church" or "Believers Assembly". They are also associted with the terms "True Bride Doctrine" "Evening Light Believers", "Cloverdale Bibleway Ministries", "Restored Word", "Spoken Word", "Bible Believers", and "Laodicean Church Age". The Believers Church is a cult because they follow many anti-biblical teachings, such as mystical practices and non-trinitarianism. In fact, Branham said the doctrine of the Trinity is "a doctrine of demons." The work and mission of Branham was called "The Message." Does this sound familiar? "The Message" is now an "updated" version of the Bible with subtle Pagan references! Full circle again!

In the "Believers Songbook", their hymnal, there is a song near the end called "Blessed Be Your Eyes". The first line goes: "Blessed be your eyes, for they see the things of God". "Blessed Be" is the most common saying among Pagans! And even scarier-there is a Wiccan-Pagan ritual for blessing children, and one of the lines is: "Blessed be your eyes, that you may see clearly." This line is part of the FIVE-FOLD KISS!!! WOW!!!!

What's so disturbing about the Belivers Church is that it's not so obviously a cult, but rather has elements of Christianity. Isn't that just like the devil to throw in elements of Christianity! Also, it is alive and well today in various places! Let's look at the link below. This is the Evening Light Tabernacle Elkton Belivers Assembly in Elkton, Kentucky. (interesting, because Branham was born and raised in Kentucky.) Notice the 7 Ages sign behind the kids?

Children's Choir

Notice that the infinity and Ouroboros symbols are missing from the sign! Interesting!

As you probably noticed, the 7 Church Ages symbol looks like a menorah. If this were TRUE Christianity (as it claims to be) what are symbols of Judaism doing in there? What does a menorah stand for in a group like this? Darned if i know! And take a look at this picture from a church in the Phillipines:

Jesus and Rainbow

What's up with this picture? Why are Jesus' feet on fire? There's that menorah again-this time a true menorah! There's the holy profile in the clouds! Who of us would agree that this strange collection bears any resemblence to true Christianity?

I hope you have enjoyed our study of this modern-day cult. Please remember to pray for the "Believers". They are not the enemy, Satan is! Many, in their quest for truth have fallen for this or other churches like it. Many may not even know the history behind their church, and it doesn't make it any easier when things are hidden from view-like the deletion of the symbols in the pic! Just remember :

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Ephesians 6:12

Dear Lord, Please open the eyes of the misguided, who, in their quest for Christian truth, have fallen to the lies and deceptions of Satan. Please bring them into your loving arms where they long to be.
Amen
